Our elected officials are debating which skills should be taught in public schools and funded with federal dollars. Archery and hunter education courses were. The Department of Education issued guidance to stop this based on its interpretation of the 2022 Bipartisan Safer Communities Act, stating that these courses involve "technically dangerous weapons" and cannot receive federal funds under the Elementary and Secondary Education Act. The Elementary and Secondary Education Act was passed 4/11/1965.
